The Pursuit series of fishing boats followed in 1977, and in 1979 the Tiara
series was introduced.
The 1980s saw S2 Yachts enter a period of steady growth; by 1986 the company
employed 500 workers, and by 1990 the employee count had risen to 800.
In 2006 Tiara introduced the Sovran 4000, the first U.S. production yacht designed
specifically for Volvo’s new IPS pod drives.
One of the marine industry’s most admired and successful companies, S2 Yachts remains one of the few privately-owned and operated production boat builders in the U.S.
