It is a fantastic event that is always full of surprises. This years surprise was seeing my kids finally take ownership of the water. For the past 5 years I have been dragging my son Jacob and daughter Sohpia to this event. Previous years I had forced them to use the net, grab the trash and put it in the bag. This year they were ready to go before I woke up. They each had a friend on board and they took charge! Jacob was on the bow leading the way, pointing out debris and rubbish; Sophia and her friend were ready with the trash bags.
They wanted to scour the waterways they frequent and leave it better than they found it. It’s their canal and they want it Clean!
