Arranged by Parker Bogue, the hand selected invitees were a cross section of people of influence within the Miami Yachting Community. These included Steele Reeder (Customs Broker), James C. Sauers (General Manager of Palm Bay Club) and Irene Bartrum (Owner of the Vessel "Li dor Vi Dor").
With the backdrop of a shimmering Biscayne Bay, the luncheon topics of discussion were focused on the introduction of Luke Brown into the Miami Market Place and some of the challenges (and opportunities) that represents. It was widely acknowledged that some Very Exciting things are underway in the Miami area that specifically impact the Yacht Business. These included everything from the construction of the New Mega Yacht facility on Watson Island to the slow (but steady) plans to move the Miami International Boat Show to the Marine Stadium on the causeway to Key Biscayne. There was even some discussion regarding the Positive influence of Cuba slowing the opening to private yachtsmen in the near future.
This same group will reconvene at the end of the Boat Show Season. It was agreed that the availability of the "Luke Brown Style of Business" here in Miami is something truly needed. As such, the members of the "Luke Brown Advisory Board" will be helping Spread the Word.
