Royal Denship Expedition Yacht Turmoil Sold

Designed by Ole Steen Knudsen, Turmoil was built in steel and aluminum by Royal Denship to Lloyd’s class and MCA coded with delivery in 2006. Since her launch, she has travelled the oceans of the world.  With her ice-strengthened hull and 6,500 nautical mile range, she was built to travel great distances to any part of the globe.

A warm interior in American cherry wood accommodates as many as 16 guests in eight well-appointed cabins including a master suite on its own private deck.  In addition, 14 crew members are accommodated in 10 cabins.

The owner and captain who built the yacht had a great deal of experience with this type of vessel from 10 years of traveling in their first expedition yacht, the 46 metre Palmer Johnson of the same name.

Turmoil is equipped with a scientific climatology lab and research facilities to investigate the consequences of global warning in the world’s oceans. In order to make her completeley independent, she comes complete with a helicopter deck and fuelling station.

Twin 2,260hp Caterpillar diesel engines give her a cruising speed of 12 knots and she is fitted with Quantum zero speed stabilizers.

Lying in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Turmoil was asking $48,500,000.
