He was joined on this trip by his daughter, Rachel, a freshman at the University of Wisconsin.  Either Andrew, Jim Wilkey, Luke Browns’ Nordic Tug brand manager, or Rick Kellogg, the service manager, are making monthly trips to the factory to inspect Nordic Tugs that Luke Brown currently have in build.

Of the seven boats presently in build, three are boats coming to Luke Brown Yachts.  The blue hull 44 in the photo is a new model (hull #44-119) which will debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show November 5th through November 9th.  She will be available for purchase and features a gorgeous flag blue hull with numerous upgrades from her predecessor, the Nordic Tug 42.  She will have have a full size sea berth in the bench/pilothouse, with an additional bench forward facing aft and table creating a private lounge.  She will be powered by a 550 hp cummins and has a 12Kw Northern Lights generator.  Her beautiful Sapele woodwork will exceed anything that has come from Nordic Tug to date. Andrew reports that Nordic Tugs continues to strive to build the best boat in the industry.  They are utilizing modern building technologies and materials.  They’re getting away from using wood anywhere in the molding processes.  The laminates today are far stronger and more durable.  This will result in a vessel that will be easier to maintain and perform better than earlier models or a boat of lesser quality.

Every Nordic Tug goes through a rigid factory sea trial before leaving the factory. Factory tours are always available.
