Riviera Yachts For Sale | Luke Brown Yachts
Riviera was founded in 1981 by Bill Barry-Cotter, a name well-known in Australian offshore racing boat circles. By 1985 Riviera had grown to become the largest builder of production boats in Australia. Riviera began exporting to the U.S. in the late 1980s. Despite high shipping costs, a favorable exchange rate allows Rivieras to be competitive with domestic sportfishing boats. By 2000 Riviera was selling over 300 boats annually, half of which was exported to a dealer network spanning 30 countries. Riviera purchased Stuart Yacht in 2006 which then became Riviera’s U.S. sales headquarters. With sales falling due to the worldwide recession, Riviera filed for bankruptcy in late 2009. Riviera resumes production in 2010. In 2012, Riviera was purchased by Longhurst Holding, an Australian investment company.
