Neptunus was founded in 1970 by a Dutch yachting enthusiast who, unable to find the type of boat he wanted, decided to build his own boat—a 37-foot twin-keel cruiser called the Neptunus 107. The success of the Neptunus 107 (over 300 were sold) led to the development of larger boats, and by the early 1980s Neptunus had expanded into the greater European market. In 1989, Neptunus make the move into the North American market by building a production facility in Ontario, Canada. (Note that all Neptunus models sold in th U.S. are built at the Canadian yard.)
