Fairline Yachts For Sale | Luke Brown Yachts
Founded in 1867, Fairline began operations as a post-war builder of small powerboats for the local English market. The company expanded rapidly in the 1980s developing lines of high-speed cruising yachts. In 1988, with a worldwide economic recession on the horizon, Fairline invested hugely in a new flagship, the Squadron 62 Motor Yacht, which made its debut in 1992. In 2002, the 10,000th Fairline was completed, together with new production facilities at the original Oundle, England, site. In 2010, Fairline is put up for sale by 3i, a London-listed private equity group. After months of speculation regarding Fairline’s future, in 2011 the company was purchased in a joint venture between an investment firm and the Royal Bank of Scotland. Using an extensive dealer network, Fairline has historically exported most of its boats to Spain, Norway, France and America.
